Donating to FAWNA

FAWNA (NSW) is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
By donating to FAWNA (NSW) Inc you will be helping the hard-working band of volunteers look after their wildlife charges by funding materials for pre-release pens, and purchase of costly specialised wildlife foods. Donated funds contribute to preparation of training materials, courses and education campaigns and assist with responses to disasters affecting wildlife.

Bequest a Donation
You can make a bequest to help our native animals. When creating your will, use the correct legal name: “FAWNA (NSW) Inc Public Fund.” We suggest using the following format:
‘I give the sum of $……. to FAWNA (NSW) Inc Public Fund ABN 65 455 270 251.for the rescue and care of native animals. This payment is to be made after all debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, duties, taxes and any charges payable on my estate after my death.’
How your donation will be used
FAWNA (NSW) receives no government funding, and relies on membership fees, public donations and grants to keep running:
- Around 4,500 animals are rescued annually bringing a large cost to ensure their rehabilitation meets Code of Practice standards of ongoing rehabilitation care, feeding and housing prior to their release back to the wild.
- In the last 12 months FAWNA spent over $31,000 on specialised wildlife foods and members spent more.
- FAWNA (NSW) volunteers operate over an area of 18,000 sq km. They give of their time freely with animal rescue and care, and telephone rescue duties on the 24/7/365 days telephone rescue “hotline”. Many volunteers spend their own money on their wildlife rescue and rehabilitation with vehicle costs, enclosures, pouches and bedding, medications, heating and power.
- Donating to your local licensed wildlife rescue and rehabilitation charity is a great way of contributing and making a difference to your local wildlife that needs human help in some way.
